Description:
This work is a digital drawing of two praying mantis' printed onto fabric and made into a custom shaped pillow. I wanted to take the leisurely fantasy of a 'Bed and Breakfast' (the location where the exhibition was held) and the undesirable element of 'Bed Bugs' and twist them into something both cozy and slightly perverted. I personally find praying mantis' very frightnening but they are also considered symbols of good luck, in this context they acted as a bizarre and kitschy throwpillow.
